Mnemonic Memory Circuit
Being an electronics and computer guy, this scene from The City On The Edge of Forever always tickled me. Spock’s mnemonic memory circuit using 1930s vacuum tube technology or stone knives and bearskins as he put it..😆… There’s no way this simple vacuum tube circuit would even come close to what’s needed. Even by 1970s computer chip LSI standards would require a 1930s vacuum tube equivalent circuit so large that it would require thousands of square feet of space and it’s own mini power plant to operate..😆.. It’s still my favorite episode and all time top of the list with Star Trek fans…

Addendum: I didn’t post this looking for an explanation or to discredit Spock’s abilities or TOS in general..😆… No need for anyone to get their feathers ruffled.. I’m probably a bigger Trek TOS fan than most..We all have an imagination and can fill in the blanks… That was the beauty of TOS. It was presented in a way where you could think “ this is possible “….
